The Arena

Cell arrived in a fantasy world through a rift, sensing powerful beings everywhere: dragons, demon lords, spirits. A world full of things to absorb. He landed in a field outside a city of monsters, and a small blue slime bounced out to meet him, then shifted into the shape of a young person with silver-blue hair.

“You can’t eat anyone here,” Rimuru said firmly. “This is my country.” Cell looked down at the slime-turned-person and laughed. “I am a perfect being, built from the cells of the strongest warriors in the universe. And you are a slime.” Rimuru smiled. “Funny. I’m kind of built from everything I’ve eaten too.”

Cell’s smile flickered for half a second. Then he attacked.

Round One

Cell struck with blinding speed, a combination of punches and kicks that would have shattered mountains. Rimuru dodged most of them and took some, his body rippling like water where the blows landed. He reformed instantly. Cell frowned. He had hit him hard enough to destroy a planet.

Rimuru answered with magic: black flames, gravity crushing, a spear of ice. Cell regenerated from all of it, his Namekian cells rebuilding him in seconds. Two beings who could recover from almost anything, testing each other.

Then Cell fired a Kamehameha. Rimuru opened his mouth, and the beam disappeared inside him.

The Turn

Rimuru’s skill, Beelzebuth, the Lord of Gluttony, allows him to devour anything: energy, matter, magic, even concepts. The Kamehameha vanished into him. A moment later, he raised his hands and fired it back, the exact same technique, perfectly copied, with his own magic added to it.

Cell was hit by his own attack and thrown across the field. He rose, regenerating, furious and fascinated. “You absorbed my technique,” he said. Rimuru nodded. “And analysed it. And improved it a little.” Cell lunged, his tail extending, ready to absorb the slime the way he had absorbed the androids.

His tail touched Rimuru. And Rimuru began to absorb the tail.

The Finish

Cell pulled back in horror. Half his tail was gone, devoured, and it was not regenerating. Rimuru was not just destroying cells. He was taking them, analysing them, making them part of himself. For the first time since he had become perfect, Cell felt afraid of being incomplete again.

He tried to self-destruct, the technique that had nearly destroyed the Earth. Rimuru wrapped him in a sphere of his own body and swallowed the explosion whole, letting it detonate harmlessly in his stomach dimension. When the light faded, Cell was on his knees in the field, drained, half-absorbed, unable to rise.

Rimuru stood over him and stopped. He could finish it. He could take all of Cell’s power. Instead, he let go, and Cell’s cells flowed back into him. “Go home,” Rimuru said. “And don’t eat people. It’s gross.” Cell fled back through the rift. Rimuru went back into his city, where his friends were waiting with dinner.

The verdict

Rimuru Tempest wins

Cell is a perfect fighter who regenerates and absorbs other beings, but Rimuru’s Beelzebuth devours energy, attacks and matter itself, including Cell’s techniques and his absorbing tail.

  • BeelzebuthRimuru devours and copies Cell’s attacks.
  • Absorption reversalCell’s tail is absorbed by the slime he tried to absorb.
  • Stomach dimensionRimuru swallows even Cell’s self-destruction.

How the rematch could go differently: A Cell who never touched Rimuru and fought from a distance with overwhelming ki could avoid being devoured.
