The Arena
Cell came through a rift looking for opponents worthy of his perfection, and found a world where pirates ate fruits that gave them strange powers. He liked the sound of that. He liked it even more when he heard about a pirate who had stolen the power of the strongest man in the world. He found Blackbeard drinking rum in a ruined fortress.
Blackbeard looked at the tall green figure with the insect wings and laughed loudly. “Zehahaha! What are you supposed to be?” Cell smiled. “Perfect.” Blackbeard grinned, showing his broken teeth. “Perfect, huh? I collect powers. Maybe I’ll collect yours.” Cell’s smile widened. “Funny. I was going to say the same.”
Lightning flashed over the fortress. Darkness began to spread from Blackbeard’s hands.
Round One
Blackbeard struck first with the Tremor-Tremor Fruit he had stolen from Whitebeard, punching the air and sending a quake that shattered the fortress walls. Cell flew through the falling stone and kicked Blackbeard across the courtyard. Blackbeard rolled up laughing and spread his arms. Darkness poured out of him like black smoke.
Cell fired a ki blast. The darkness swallowed it whole. Cell fired another. The darkness swallowed that too. Blackbeard laughed harder. “Black Hole! It pulls in everything! Light, energy, even your powers!” Cell landed, curious, and studied the darkness with genuine scientific interest.
Then he flew straight into it, and Blackbeard’s darkness wrapped around him and pulled him in.
The Turn
Inside the darkness, Blackbeard grabbed Cell’s arm. The Darkness-Darkness Fruit can cancel any Devil Fruit power on contact, and it had beaten men far stronger than Blackbeard. Cell felt something strange pull at his body, a cold emptiness, and for a moment his ki flickered.
Then he realised what was happening and laughed. “You cancel powers from fruit,” he said. “But I did not eat a fruit. I was built.” His ki, his regeneration, his techniques, all came from the cells of Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo and Frieza. The darkness could pull at them, but it could not erase them.
Cell burst out of the darkness, blasting it apart with raw power, and Blackbeard’s laugh stopped for the first time.
The Finish
Blackbeard threw everything he had at Cell: quakes that shook the island, darkness that swallowed the courtyard, both powers at once in a storm of destruction. Cell flew through it all, regenerating every wound in seconds, and hit Blackbeard with a punch that sent him through the remaining fortress wall.
Then Cell cupped his hands. “Ka… me… ha… me…” Blackbeard opened his darkness to swallow it, and the Kamehameha poured into the black hole, more energy than the darkness had ever pulled in. The darkness bulged, strained and exploded outward, throwing Blackbeard into the stormy sea.
Blackbeard dragged himself onto the rocks, soaking, bleeding, unable to rise. Cell landed beside him and looked down with satisfaction. “You collect powers,” he said. “I collect perfection. There is a difference.” He flew away into the storm, already bored, leaving the pirate laughing weakly on the rocks, as he always does, even in defeat.
The verdict
Cell wins
Blackbeard’s darkness swallows ki blasts and cancels Devil Fruit powers, but Cell’s abilities come from his cells, not a fruit, so the darkness cannot erase them, and a Kamehameha overloads the black hole.
