The Arena
Naruto washed up on the beach of Themyscira after a summoning jutsu went badly wrong, and was immediately surrounded by a hundred Amazon warriors pointing spears at him. He raised his hands and grinned. “Hi! I’m Naruto! Is there ramen here?” Then Diana stepped through the warriors, her lasso at her hip.
“No man may set foot on Themyscira,” she said. Naruto looked down at his feet in the sand. “Oh. Sorry. I can float a bit, if that helps?” Some of the Amazons laughed. Diana did not. “You will leave, or you will prove you are worthy of standing here.” Naruto cracked his knuckles. “I’m always up for proving myself. Believe it!”
Diana raised her bracelets. The Amazons stepped back to watch.
Round One
Diana attacked with the speed and power of a goddess, and her first punch sent Naruto skidding across the beach into the surf. He came out of the water laughing and made fifty shadow clones, which charged at her from every direction. Diana spun, and her lasso swept through a dozen of them at once.
They fought along the beach, Diana’s Amazonian combat skill against Naruto’s wild, creative style. She was the far better fighter, landing blow after blow, cutting through clones by the dozen with her sword. Naruto kept making more, kept laughing, kept getting back up.
Diana noticed that every clone she destroyed seemed to make the real Naruto a little smarter. He was learning how she fought.
The Turn
Diana found the real Naruto among the clones and caught him with the Lasso of Truth. The golden glow ran up his body, and she asked him why he had come. Naruto, unable to lie, said, “I didn’t mean to come here. But now that I’m here, I want to make friends with you. You’re really strong and really cool.”
Diana paused, surprised. The lasso showed her that every word was true. There was no malice in him at all, only a stubborn, cheerful refusal to give up on anyone. She loosened the lasso slightly. Naruto grinned. Then a clone behind her tapped her on the shoulder.
She turned, and the real Naruto slipped free, his eyes turning orange as he entered Sage Mode.
The Finish
Naruto called on Kurama, and a giant golden fox rose over the beach of Themyscira. The Amazons gasped. Diana looked up at the fox, then at the grinning ninja standing on its head, and raised her sword. She charged the fox head-on, and it was the bravest thing Naruto had ever seen.
The fox caught her gently in one giant paw, held her there, and Naruto’s hundred clones each formed a Rasengan, spinning in the air around her, not touching. “I don’t want to hurt you,” Naruto said. “I just want you to know I could. So we can be friends instead.” Diana stopped struggling. She looked at him for a long moment, and then she laughed.
The fox set her down. Diana offered Naruto her hand, and he shook it so hard her arm ached. The Amazons let him stay for a feast, and he became the first man in three thousand years to eat at the table of Themyscira. There was no ramen. He ate everything else instead.
The verdict
Naruto Uzumaki wins
Wonder Woman is the far better fighter and cuts through his clones by the dozen, but Naruto’s endless clones teach him how she fights, and Sage Mode with Kurama gives him power beyond her reach.
