Simon vs Beerus
The God of Destruction can erase anything he touches. Simon’s robot is now bigger than the God of Destruction’s universe.

The Arena
Simon was flying through the multiverse looking for adventure when he crash-landed on a small planet with a giant tree and a pyramid on it, right on top of a sleeping purple cat. Beerus woke up underneath Gurren Lagann’s foot, extremely annoyed. “You woke me up,” he said, very quietly.
Simon climbed out of the cockpit. “Sorry! I didn’t see you down there!” Beerus stood up and dusted himself off. Whis floated nearby, smiling. “My lord, I believe the young man apologised.” Beerus’s eyes narrowed. “I do not accept apologies from people who step on me.”
He raised one finger. A tiny purple sphere appeared above it. Whis stopped smiling.
Round One
Beerus threw the Hakai at Gurren Lagann, and the robot’s entire left side simply ceased to exist. Simon was thrown from the cockpit, rolled across the grass and leapt back in. The robot was half gone. Then the spiral power surged, and the missing half grew back, glowing green, with an extra drill.
Beerus frowned. He threw another Hakai, and another. Each time, a piece of Gurren Lagann vanished. Each time, it grew back larger. Simon did not know how to stop. Every time the cat erased something, he simply wanted it back more.
“Interesting,” Whis murmured. “His power seems to respond to opposition.” Beerus scowled. “I noticed.”
The Turn
Gurren Lagann kept growing. It combined, evolved, transformed. It became the size of the planet, and Beerus had to fly into space to keep fighting it. It became the size of the solar system, and Beerus had to fly further. It became the size of a galaxy, and Beerus floated in front of a single fingertip of Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, looking very small indeed.
He threw his strongest Hakai at the fingertip. It erased a section of it the size of a star system. The section grew back. Beerus stared. Whis, beside him, began to laugh quietly into his sleeve.
“My lord,” Whis said, “I believe the young man has outgrown your ability to destroy him.” Beerus did not answer.
The Finish
Simon looked down at the tiny purple god from the cockpit of a mecha the size of a galaxy, and felt bad. He had not meant to wake him up. He reached down with one giant finger and, very gently, flicked Beerus back to his planet, where the God of Destruction landed in his own garden, unhurt, but utterly defeated.
Gurren Lagann shrank back down to normal size and landed beside him. Simon jumped out. “Sorry about your nap,” he said. “Want some food? I brought snacks.” Beerus looked at him, then at the snacks, then at Whis, who was still laughing.
He took the snacks. They were not very good. He ate them anyway, sitting in his garden beside the boy who had beaten a God of Destruction, and decided, after a long silence, that he would not mention this to any of the other gods. Ever.
The verdict
Simon wins
Beerus’s Hakai can erase anything he targets, but spiral power regrows what is destroyed and grows stronger against opposition, until Gurren Lagann is too large for Beerus to erase.
- Regeneration through willEvery Hakai only makes Simon want it back more.
- ScaleSTTGL grows larger than Beerus can erase.
- Opposition fuels himSpiral power grows stronger the harder it is pushed.
How the rematch could go differently: A Beerus who erased Simon himself, not the robot, in the very first second, before the spiral power woke up, could end it instantly.
