The Arena
All Might arrived in Kahndaq through a rift and saw a nation ruled by a single powerful man, its people living under his protection and his iron fist. He landed in the capital’s central square with a thunderous crash. “FEAR NOT! FOR I AM HERE!” The people stared at him. A bolt of lightning came down from the sky.
Black Adam floated above the square, his arms crossed, his eyes glowing. “Who are you, to shout in my city?” All Might grinned up at him. “I am All Might! The Symbol of Peace!” Black Adam scowled. “Peace is not a symbol. It is a law. And I enforce it.” All Might’s smile faded slightly. “Peace should never be enforced through fear.”
Black Adam descended slowly. “Then show me another way.”
Round One
All Might threw a Detroit Smash, and the air pressure alone cracked the stones of the square. Black Adam took it on the chest, slid back ten metres, and smiled. “Strong.” He flew forward and hit All Might with a punch backed by the strength of Shu, and All Might crashed through a building.
They fought across the capital, two powerhouses trading blows that shook the city. All Might was the better fighter, his technique honed by decades of saving people. Black Adam was older, with five thousand years of combat experience, and his strength came from six gods.
All Might threw a Texas Smash. Black Adam caught it, held it, and pushed back. All Might’s eyes widened. Nobody had ever caught a Smash.
The Turn
Black Adam shouted the word, and magic lightning came down from the sky, striking All Might full on. It was not ordinary electricity. It was the power of the gods, and All Might’s body, enhanced by a Quirk but still human beneath it, had no defence against magic.
All Might staggered, his body smoking, his muscles trembling. He had been hit by All For One, by monsters and villains, but never by the power of the gods themselves. He forced himself back to his feet, smiling through the pain, and threw a United States of Smash with everything he had.
It hit Black Adam with the force of a hurricane and drove him through three city blocks. For a moment, the Symbol of Peace stood alone in the square, swaying.
The Finish
Black Adam rose from the rubble, bleeding, impressed, and called the lightning one more time. It struck All Might again, and this time he could not stand back up. His muscular form deflated, steam rising from his body, and he shrank into his true form: a thin, skeletal man, coughing blood, kneeling in the square.
Black Adam landed in front of him and stared, shocked. The Symbol of Peace was a frail, wounded man who had been fighting on borrowed strength the whole time. “You fought like that,” Black Adam said slowly, “in that body?” All Might smiled weakly. “A hero smiles. Even when it hurts.”
Black Adam was silent for a long time. Then he knelt and helped the thin man to his feet, gently. “You are not a symbol,” he said. “You are a fool.” All Might laughed, coughing. “Yes. But a fool who never gives up.” Black Adam carried him to the palace and called his best physicians. He never told anyone why.
