The Arena
Logan had spent years in Japan, and he knew the mountain shrines well. When he heard about an abandoned one where people kept disappearing, he went to check it out. He found a man with four eyes and black markings sitting on the broken altar, surrounded by bones, grinning with two mouths.
“A man who smells like iron and old blood,” Sukuna said, delighted. “What are you?” Logan lit a cigar. “The guy who’s gonna stop you eating people.” Sukuna laughed. “You? A human?” Logan popped his claws. “More or less.”
Sukuna raised one hand lazily, and an invisible cut opened across Logan’s chest. Logan looked down at it, watched it close, and kept walking forward.
Round One
Sukuna’s interest sharpened. He cut Logan again, deeper, and again. Each cut healed in seconds. Logan closed the distance and slashed with his claws, and Sukuna dodged most of them and took one across the arm. He looked at the wound and laughed. “You fight like an animal.” Logan grinned. “Thanks.”
They fought through the shrine, Sukuna cutting and Logan healing, Logan slashing and Sukuna regenerating with reverse cursed technique. Logan was relentless, a berserker who never stopped coming. Sukuna was faster and far more precise.
Sukuna tried to cut Logan’s arm off at the elbow, and his invisible blade stopped at the bone. Adamantium. Sukuna’s eyes widened with genuine delight.
The Turn
Sukuna formed a hand sign. “Domain Expansion. Malevolent Shrine.” A shrine of skulls rose in the centre of the ruins, and every surface within two hundred metres began to cut. Thousands of invisible blades fell on Logan, over and over, without pause.
Logan healed. Then he healed again. Then he began to fall behind. His healing factor is one of the strongest in the Marvel universe, but Malevolent Shrine does not cut once. It cuts endlessly, thousands of times a second, and every second Logan spent healing, he lost more than he regained.
His adamantium skeleton held. Nothing could cut through it. But everything around it was being torn away faster than it could grow back.
The Finish
Logan fought his way forward through the domain anyway, a step at a time, his body being torn apart and rebuilt with every step. He was magnificent, and Sukuna watched him with something close to admiration. He got within arm’s reach of Sukuna and raised his claws.
Then his body gave out. Not his skeleton, which was still perfect and unbroken, but the flesh around it, which could no longer keep up. Logan fell to his knees in front of the King of Curses, his healing factor straining, barely conscious. Sukuna released the domain.
“Fascinating,” Sukuna said, crouching in front of him. “An unbreakable skeleton and a body that refuses to die. I could cut you for a hundred years.” He stood up and walked away, laughing. “Come back when you’ve healed. I’d like to do that again.” Logan lay among the ruins, healing slowly, and swore he would.
The verdict
